after reading the article by naomi wolf, i remembered this movie that Avy showed us for reading and writing.. it was called happiness machines... it was basically about how sigmund freud's nephew moulded the american mind. there was this one instance where he spoke of cigarettes and women. he told the women that by smoking a cigarette they were actually making a statement about their sexuality and how it would give them exalted status in society.
